Navigate the Happier Meditation App

There are a lot of resources inside the Happier Meditation app! This article will help you explore.


From the Menu Bar

  • Home is where you start.
    • At the beginning of each month, set an intention for your mindfulness and meditation based on what's going on in your life and what you're dealing with. The idea here is that we're all imperfect people dealing with modern life and we want meditation to support you and mindfulness to be a part of your everyday life in an easy, non-judgmental, realistic way. You don't have to meditate every day, you don't have to reach a goal. The thing here is the moment to reflect and set an intention.
    • After you set your intention for the month, you can visit the Home page each day for 8-10 recommended practices.
    • You'll get content for the whole day, from morning to night.
    • Our teachers spent a lot of time matching meditations to the kinds of things meditators want to address but the titles might not look like they relate. Give the meditations a try and see what you think. If you find one that's out of place, please email us at support@meditatehappier.com so we can fix it.
    • If you're taking a Course, the next lesson in your current study will also be on your Home page.

  • Courses are a series of video lessons on a meditation topic, paired with a meditation. Our teachers have extensive training and share their answers to the most common questions meditators have, as well as some of the deeper questions.
    • When the video lesson ends, a guided meditation will start automatically.
    • If you want to do the meditation without watching the lesson, tap the word MEDITATE at the top of the screen.
    • The Course you're currently working on should show at the top of the Courses tab and the next lesson will show on your Home page.
  • Singles are guided meditations and they're sorted into folders. Tap a folder, choose a meditation, and tap on it. Most of the Single meditations have length options. You can change the length by tapping the time button and choosing your preferred duration. When you're ready to start the meditation, tap the play button.
    • The Favorites box you see in the tab includes Singles you've favorited. All your other favorites are available on your Profile page.
  • The Sleep tab has meditations to use at night or nap time and it's always in dark mode. There are lots of other meditations in the app that help with sleep too - but these have been recorded specifically for that purpose.
  • The Shorts tab has non-traditional meditation content in it including:
    • Practice In Action videos which are quick, real-life mindfulness insights from the teachers. Use these to learn how you can apply the wisdom you're getting from practicing meditation in your everyday life.
    • Wisdom Clips are short videos from our meditation teachers. Use them to get a moment of inspiration in your day and to help you remember the things you learn when you practice meditation. 
    • Shorts is also the place to find Teacher Talks and the podcasts Twenty Percent Happier, Childproof and More Than a Feeling.

More App Features

Profile is where you can find support for creating and maintaining your meditation practice.

  • iPhone or iPad: Tap the Profile icon in the upper, left corner of the screen.
  • Android phones or tablets: Tap the Profile icon in the upper, right corner of the screen.

Here's what you'll find:

  • Stats, including number of days you’ve meditated, number of meditation sessions and minutes. Tap on the Mindful Days box to toggle between your Daily Streak and your Weekly Streak.
    • Podcasts and Talks don't count towards your practice stats if you’re following that part of your Profile.
  • All your Favorited content!
  • Share complimentary Guest Pass subscriptions (30 days) with friends & family. There's no limit to how many Guest Passes you share although each friend can use your Guest Pass only once.
  • A calendar showing your app engagement over the past four weeks.
  • Your Milestones reached in the app.
  • A history of what you've listened to in the app.
  • Your downloaded app content.

Settings

Tap the gear icon in the upper, right corner of your Profile page to get to the app settings. Settings has:

  • Information about your account and subscription status
  • Notifications Settings
  • Download Settings
  • Appearance Settings if you use an Android Phone
  • Apple Health Settings if you use an iPhone
  • A link to our Meditation FAQ
  • A link to our Help Center
  • A direct email link to the support team, support@meditatehappier.com
  • A link to share the Happier Meditation app with someone else
  • Information on our books
  • A link to rate the app if you use an Android Phone

There's also a Search icon in the upper, right corner of the screen. Type in a topic or teacher’s name for options or scroll left and right on the pictures of the teachers to find content by your favorites. Read more about it here: Use the Search in the App.
